Lead Game Programmer
Is "we'll figure out the architecture later" your personal nemesis? Do you do your best work when the team moves fast and trusts you to make the technical calls?
As our new Lead Game Programmer, you'll take a new project from early exploration all the way to live service. You'll be setting the technical direction, making pragmatic decisions under time-pressure, and working closely with a fast-moving team that isn't afraid to change course. Most importantly, you'll have a lot of ownership here, which means defining the direction, not just following it.
Here’s what that looks like day to day
Defining the technical architecture and deciding what we build and how
Implementing and owning core systems across the full development cycle
Making sure the game feels great across platforms, from iOS to console and beyond
Writing code other programmers enjoy working with
Keeping technical decisions grounded in the game vision
Must-haves
At least 2 years in a similar role with experience shipping games as part of a team
Strong C# and deep Unity knowledge, both engine and editor
Experience shipping iOS and macOS apps with hands-on integration of Apple platform services such as GameKit and the Game Controller framework
A communication style that works across disciplines
A pragmatic mindset. You've shipped enough to know that done beats perfect, but you also know when it actually matters
Nice-to-haves
Experience as a lead or key programmer on a shipped game
Familiarity with build pipelines like Jenkins
Experience working on live games
A deep understanding of the Unity rendering pipeline
