Unity Tools Developer (Core Tech)
Do you feel like the tools that make a game are more interesting than the game itself?
As our new Unity Tools Developer, you’ll join our Core Tech team building and maintaining the shared tools and packages that power everything we make, from hands and cars to horses and beyond.
Your focus will be on making great internal tools: creating solid, well-documented packages, improving our testing and automation setup, and jumping in when Unity issues need debugging. This role is similar in spirit to what the rest of the Core Tech team does (building shared tech that supports multiple projects), but with room for someone more junior. What matters most is that you’re curious, sharp, inquisitive, and kind.
Here’s what your job looks like day to day
Building and maintaining Unity tools like automation or localization packages (with great documentation and a strong “others will use this” mindset)
Helping debug and troubleshoot issues in Unity (editor and runtime)
Collaborating with other team members on new packages
Improving the overall game development experience for everyone through better workflows, reliability, and clarity in our shared tools
Must-haves
Experience with Unity (both editor and runtime)
Strong C# skills
Strong fundamentals in software design (e.g. unit testing, integration testing, dependency injection, design patterns)
A deep interest in tools development: you get more excited about building tooling and setting up efficient workflows than working directly on player-facing game features
An investigative mindset: you’re curious, thorough, and enjoy getting to the bottom of tricky problems
A genuine interest in sharing knowledge: you enjoy bringing people together, explaining how things work and helping them adopt tools
Nice-to-haves
Experience with automated testing of Unity projects (including on-device testing)
Experience working with REST APIs
Experience with graphics and shaders programming
Experience with performance optimization
Interest in experimenting with and using AI tools (e.g. Claude Code) in your day-to-day
Requirements for any job at Triband

You value a positive work environment and contribute to making the studio a fun and supportive place.
You have team production experiences, such as using version control software (we use git), branching, stand-ups, sprints, and reviews.
